Divine Movement Dance & Wellness is an all-adult dance company founded to foster an innovative and heart-centered community, established by global performing artist and choreographer, Shaidon Woods.
Shaidon Woods has spent over 15 years exploring how dance can help people heal—physically, emotionally, and mentally. (See More about Shaidon...) He’s studied and taught movement in more than 16 countries, learning how powerful it is in helping people let go of stress and trauma stored in the body. Now, through his company, he shares this work across Canada in dance technique and connective workshops (solo and partner work) that connect the body and mind through the art of dance.
His approach blends the concepts of Dance Movement Therapy (using movement to support emotional healing) with ideas from Quantum Wave Function—specifically, the concept that everything, including our thoughts and emotions, has energy and a vibration. Using structured dance techniques and calming meditation, Shaidon helps people feel more at home in their bodies and more connected to themselves.
He believes movement isn’t just for dancers—it’s essential for everyone’s well-being. From easing joint pain and improving mental health to helping with conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's, moving the body with intention has been shown to improve health and even lengthen life. It can also help people process emotional pain and find more peace in their daily lives.
According to Shaidon’s developing method, every person gives off a kind of energy or “vibe” that reflects how they’re doing inside. Music and dance help shift this energy—almost like tuning an instrument—so people can feel lighter, clearer, and more connected to who they really are.
When you move your body with intention and pair it with sound or rhythm, it raises your energy. This clears mental and emotional blocks and opens up your ability to connect with your inner wisdom and intuition. In that state, healing, creativity, and self-expression can flow more easily.
The vision behind Shaidon's company is to create a safe, welcoming space where people can heal and grow through movement. It's more than a dance studio—it’s a space where music, movement, and mindfulness come together to support real, lasting transformation.
