Held at the brilliant Lotus in London Location (38 Adelaide Street N, Unit 3). NO PARTNER REQUIRED - This workshop will be led by international Mind-Body Connection professional, Shaidon Woods, and will focus on improvisational technique as both a means of increasing awareness when dancing solo and then continuing to take the technique into partnership dancing. Using various dips & tricks that can be used in any style of dance, these exercises will explore vertical, horizontal, and diagonal planes, incorporating joint, limb, core, and full-body range of motion to enhance mobility and awareness to execute these moves safely and effectively on a social and competitive dance floor! NO PARTNER NEEDED!
Recognizing the diverse needs of participants, many of the movements will be able to help in discovering one's personal styling, movement, comfort zone, and assisting with pushing out of it; allowing everyone to take part at their own pace.
This workshop not only offers a creative and restorative movement experience, but also serves as a meaningful fundraiser in support of Parkinson’s disease awareness and research as a portion of the proceeds will be going to the Parkinson's Society of Southwestern Ontario! Dance and Movement with one's own self is crucial to positive cognitive function, and add a few more people into the mix who like to dance together, partnership and all, it just becomes fun!
